Couldabin TV Casting of the Day (6/9/11)

Remember when America wondered "Who Shot J.R.?" The attempted assassination of the Dallas oil baron wasn’t just some clever cliffhanger dreamed up by writers, it was done out of necessity.  See, in 1980, Larry Hagman wasn’t thrilled with his 1980-81 Dallas contract and the producers shot the bastard (JR, not Hagman) thinking it would be the perfect out if Hagman didn’t want to come back. What many don’t know is that there was one actor waiting in the wings to fill the role of JR…  Robert Culp of I, Spy fame.
